I have a patient with a fairly large leg wound that she has had for well over 30 days that my provider believes would greatly benefit from a skin sub to promote wound healing. However, the patient has not been followed by a wound clinician or had any treatment for the wound as of yet. My provider is willing to start standard wound treatment. Is it within compliance for the rxwound provider to start standard wound treatment for the patient and would all in won still do the billing for the first 30 days and thereafter? If not, what steps would the provider need to take to move forward.

Just for clarification, the patient can receive treatment immediately if there was either 30 days of continuous documentation of standard of care from a previous provider or the current provider must first implement 30 days of standard of care before using skin substitutes?
Yes per the guidelines AIW shared, the provider should start conventional wound treatment for 30 days and document it. The provider will still be able to bill for the visits. If you haven't already look at AIW's new guidelines posted in the Rep Portal they are incredibly helpful. :) Hope that helps!
